New ElectricMood Promises Hassle-Free Commuting

The popularity of push scooters has been on the rise. Equipped with lightweight batteries and motors, these scooters have become a popular way to commute, especially in heavy traffic conditions.

Now a French-based firm has announced an electric scooter primarily designed for short trips – the ElectricMood. This portable scooter weighs just a mere 10kgs making it suitable to carry around. It has a hinge allowing the ElectricMood to be folded into a more compact form. While casters are mounted at the front that allow you to drag the folded scooter like a trolley suitcase.

The ElectricMood packs a 500-watt brushless hub motor, and is claimed to provide a modest 20 km range with a top speed of 25kmph. In addition, it uses 12 inch pneumatic wheels, which should provide a comfortable ride and can take care of potholes.

Other features include an LCD charge gauge, a speedometer, along with integrated LCD lights on the front and back, to ensure safety while riding at night.

ElectricMood is available for pre-order on Indiegogo.com with deliveries starting in June 2015 for a price of $795 (expected retail price will be $1199). The Indiegogo campaign is also offering 50 Early bird Specials at $795, which includes shipping to Europe and the US.
