Tata Motors Tuff Truck Concept revealed

Tata Motors decided to use the opportunity to show off its potential at the National 4X4 & Outdoors Show by presenting a new concept based on its Xenon pick-up called Tuff Truck. Jointly developed with Australian distributor Fusion Automotive, the Tuff Truck was designed by Julian Quincey who also happens to be the chief designer at Holden Special Vehicles (HSV).

The concept vehicle embraces every aspect of the original Xenon’s bold and muscular design, and is headed to a next level with 4×4 inclusion. The Tuff Truck Concept features an aggressive front bumper, LED daytime running lights, 20 inch alloy wheels coupled to an off-road tyres. The concept features an exclusive designed body kit and accessories pack, making it more aggressive and sporty, such as the wheels, snorkel and sports bar with the roof, driving and sport lights.

Under the hood, the Tuff Truck features the same 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine which is capable of developing 148bhp and 320Nm of top torque. The power is transmitted to all four wheels via five speed manual transmission. The standard Tata Xenon, which goes on sale in October 2013, will feature driver and front passenger airbags as well as in car features such as bluetooth and USB connectivity as standard.
