Tesla Motors to Reveal a New Roadster this Week

Billionaire CEO of Tesla Motors Elon Musk says that the company is working on a new Roadster, details of which will be revealed this week. The company’s CEO said in a tweet that they are working on a successor to the original Roadster. Musk also mentioned that ‘several crisis issues’ pushed the announcement longer than expected. The Roadster was Tesla’s first car produced from 2008 to 2012, and is currently out of production.

Musk pointed earlier this year that upgrades were coming for the Roadster before the year end, though he wasn’t specific. In addition, he also mentioned that the Roadster would get an upgraded battery that would extend its range from 245 miles to 400 miles on a single charge.

These changes are expected to be made onto existing Roadsters, though there have been speculations that the company also plans to launch a completely revamped Roadster at some point.

Hence, it is still not clear whether upgraded battery is the only news or if there’s something else in store; we’ll have to be patient a little longer.
