2014 Volkswagen Vento Facelift Launched in India

After launching the new facelift for Polo, the German auto maker Volkswagen has now launched a facelift for Vento. Highlight of the facelift is the addition of the new 1.5-litre diesel motor. In line with the Polo facelift, the new Vento also gets a few exterior changes and equipment upgrades.

Launched with a starting price of Rs.7.44 lakh, the updated Vento gets a brand new face made of chrome, reprofiled headlamps and a slightly redesigned bumper. It gets brand new alloys with the pumped up rear bumper and tail-lights. Inside, the new Vento gets a flat-bottomed three-spoke steering wheel, quite like the one found on the Polo, piano-black finish and audio and telephony controls among other provisions.

Speaking at the launch of the new Vento, Michael Mayer, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd. said “It has been our constant endeavour to provide leading automotive technologies to our customers in India, as elsewhere in the world.Our cars have always represented high standards of safety, impeccable build quality, and outstanding driving dynamics, and with all of these, we take one more step forward with the new Vento.”

As far as transmission is concerned, with the addition of the 7-speed DSG unit, the Vento has now become the second automatic diesel in the segment after the Hyundai Verna. The dashboard gets a two-tone option for the standard car and the centre console gets silver finishing in contrast to the black. In terms of safety, all the variants get dual front airbags and ABS is standard on all variants except the base variant.
