Mercedes Launches Three New Epic Sports Cars In India

Luxury car-maker, Mercedes-Benz, has decided to step away from the luxury section and concentrate more on the sportier complex with the launch of their three new vehicles: S500 Coupe, S63 AMG Coupe and SUV G63 AMG ‘Crazy Colour’ edition here in India. Not just this, but the company has also introduced ‘designo’ platforms that will allow customers to choose between exclusive paints, high-quality interiors, trims and features.

Let us see the specs of each car, starting with the S500 Coupe. This coupe is powered by a 4.7-litre twin turbo V8 engine developing 461PS of power and 700Nm of torque.This sporty looking car gets flaps in its exhaust system to entertain its rumbling V8 exhaust note, as it is controlled pneumatically depending on its engine speed.

Next in line is the thunderous S63 AMG Coupe. This car is fitted with a larger 5.5-litre twin turbo V8 boasting of 593PS of power and a colossal 900Nm of torque. It also has the Mercedes-AMG’s 4Matic all-wheel drive for excellent traction at all times, AMG Sports exhaust system and the AMG Speedshift 7-speed MCT gearbox. The top speed is limited to 250kmph and it goes from 0-100kmph in 3.9 seconds.

Mercedes-Benz India Managing Director & CEO Eberhard Kern said:

It is never before that Mercedes-Benz has launched three exclusive luxury cars in a day. These three supremely exclusive cars live up to our claim of ‘Best or Nothing’ in the most detailed and compelling fashion.

He said the company will be targeting high net worth individuals in India with the new products and will expand the top end segment of the luxury car market that is about a few hundred units a year.

The S500 Coupe and AMG S 63 Coupe feature optionally available unique headlamps with a total of 94 Swarovski crystals, while the AMG G 63 ‘Crazy Colours’ will be available in solar beam, sunset beam and alien green for enhanced personalization, as per the company.

On ‘designo’ platform, Kern said:

We have seen an increasing demand for exclusivity and customisation from our customers and the launch of the ‘designo’ range will further reinforce Mercedes-Benz’s customer focused approach, transforming customer delight to the next level.

The S500 Coupe is priced at Rs 2 crore ex-showroom Delhi, and the S63 AMG is priced at Rs 2.6 crore ex-showroom Delhi. In addition to the S Coupes, Mercedes has also launched the G63 AMG SUV in a ‘Crazy Colour’ at Rs 2.17 Crore ex-showroom Delhi. For now, we do not have much information about the G63.
