Yamaha to Bring Out Fazer FI V2.0 By End of September

Yamaha, Japanese auto maker, is all set to launch the newly revamped and refreshed version of Fazer, 2014 Yamaha Fazer FI Version 2.0. Fazer is the third bike in FZ series to get a makeover following FZ FI Version 2.0 and FZ-S FI Version 2.0.

Though still not officially launched, the bike has been spotted at a dealership in Gurgaon, which was kept on display for the customers, it is also said that the new version is priced at Rs.94,305. Primarily, the Fazer is an FZ with a semi-fairing. So it gets all the bits and pieces that are found on the FZ Version which includes a split seat, redesigned exhaust, updated instrument cluster and new graphics: White Cloud, Black Hawk and Red Dawn. Yamaha managed to shed off the three kilos from the old version as the new Fazer now weighs about 138 kgs.

The new bike will come equipped with a single-cylinder 149 cc engine, mated to fuel injection technology. This performance oriented engine churns out a maximum power of 13 bhp with a peak torque of 13 Nm. In order to transmit the produced output to its rear wheels, the new Fazer will be incorporated with a five-speed manual transmission system. It is being said that owing to the Blue Core technology installed in the engine, it produces more power than the erstwhile 153 cc engine. Also, the lower weight of the new model promises enhanced performance and efficiency.

Other features of the updated Fazer FI Version 2.0 are the same as that of the older model. The front 41mm telescopic forks and rear monoshock will continue to be there for better balance, making it an apt tourer. The braking combination, front disc and rear drum will be same as the older version though the company has decided not to give it a rear disc brake. The tyres retaining the same size of 100/80×17 front and 140/60×16 rear MRF rubbers, are also a bit newer, which are now made of softer compound and sporting different tread design than before.

The official launch date of the motorcycle is still not revealed by the company, but going by recent rumors, the bike will be launched within the next two weeks.
