Suzuki has put the new S-Cross on display at the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show. The latest model is the India-bound hatchback and is the updated version of S-Cross launched in 2013 in China. It is one of the highly-anticipated cars India has been waiting for.

The crossover will be available in both petrol and diesel variants. The European S-Cross model comprises of a 1.6-litre petrol unit, but the Indian variant will have a 1.4-litre petrol engine. The model can pump up 95PS of power and make 130Nm of torque. The diesel variant holds a 1.3-litre multijet motor, capable of producing 90PS and 200Nm of torque.

Suzuki S-CrossTalking about the looks, then its body consists of a three-slate chrome grill with projector-type headlights. The car features crossover-like body cladding, which gives the car a definite look. Other features include a start button, reverse parking sensors and steering mounted controls.

Priced at Rs. 11-15 lakh in China, it may get marginally cheaper in India. The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross is expected to cost around Rs. 7-11 lakh. The car will most probably be produced locally for the Indian market, though nothing is confirmed yet. We can expect the crossover hatchback to reach India by June 2015.
