Maruti Suzuki to Launch Alto 800 Facelift In December
Already confirming the launch of the new crossover for the SCross and YRA hatchback, Maruti is on the verge to give Alto 800 a mid-cycle facelift. Being one of the highest selling models over the year, it will replace the old generation 800 model in the country. The Alto 800 facelift will come with some minor cosmetic tweaks and will also be more fuel efficient.
Maruti features a 0.8 liter, threecylinder motor generating a 68PS and 90Nm of maximum power output and peak torque, respectively. The local-based manufacturer might also launch the diesel version of the Alto 800 powering 0.8-litre, 2-cylinder, turbocharged mill, featuring the same DDiS engine that also powers the Celerio diesel variants. It also develops 48PS and 125Nm of maximum power and torque, respectively. Attached with the motor is a 5speed manual gearbox. Maruti also offers the Alto 800 in a CNG variant that provides a 30.46 kmpl while also introducing an 800cc two-cylinder diesel engine.
The facelift will not have any changes in the exteriors and mechanics department, but will run in the same 800cc unit. The current pricing for Maruti Suzuki Alto starts from Rs. 2.5 Lakh to Rs. 3.66 Lakh in Delhi. And, the diesel variant is expected to price around Rs. 4.36 Lakh, ex-showroom in New Delhi.
