Audi Reveals New Details About the 2016 A4
Audi A4 has been one of the most recognizable cars in the world since it launched, more than 20 years ago. The German carmaker has introduced a new facelift of the A4, both sedan and wagon, ahead of its first public appearance at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The company will reveal full details at the showcase, but for now snippets have been revealed on the design and technical forefront.
At 4.73 metres long and 1.82 metres wide, the new A4 is longer and wider than the current sedan. Audi has also made efforts in construction to make it 120 kgs lighter than the current version. With that, the grille has been made wider, the head and tail lamps are more angular and sport LED lamps. The company says that it is the most aerodynamic car in its class.
On the insides, the car now comes equipped with a 19-speakers Bang & Olufsen audio system. A4 will sport an 8-inch display supporting both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Like in Audi TT, A4 will have the Audi Virtual Cockpit, a 12.3-inch TFT display as the instrument panel.
The car will be offered in seven variants – three petrol and four diesel, including two V6 turbo diesel models. Compared to the current A4, fuel economy has been improved by up to 21 percent. More details will be revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
