New Renault Duster 4×4 to Hit Market Sooner than Expected

Renault will be launching its most successful car in the Indian market in a new avatar this month. The French car maker has taken heed and decided to launch the Renault Duster 4×4 in India, which is available in a number of international markets already.

Latest media reports suggest that the launch of the vehicle may be at around the end of this month. This speculation is owing to the fact that the Gang of Dusters members are reported to have received invites for a preview of the vehicle, which is an indication that the vehicle could go on sale soon.

The 4×4 variant is likely to sit at the top of the Duster range. It is likely to get all the features that are available on the RxZ variant and an all-wheel drive system. The vehicle is aimed at giving the 4×4 versions of the Mahindra Scorpio and Tata Safari a run for their money.

There will be only one engine-transmission setup on offer on the Renault Duster 4×4. This will be a 1.5 liter diesel engine linked to a manual 6-speed transmission. It has a peak power delivery figure of 110PS and will be able to churn out 248Nm torque. The 4×4 system is likely to be carried over from the European-spec Duster, which means that the 4L option will be left out.

The addition of the 4×4 drive system isn’t the only exciting aspect of the Duster in its latest update. Some of the notable features of the car will include a touchscreen infotainment package, rear AC vents, parking sensors and overall facelift as far as the front façade of the car is concerned. Currently, the base petrol variant of the Duster is priced at 8.90 lakh INR and the diesel variant of the car starts at 10.02 lakh INR. We are expecting the Duster 4×4 to be priced at around 15 lakhs.

The Duster has been Renault’s most successful car in India and is responsible for turning around the company’s fortunes. With the addition of the 4×4 version, Renault will attempt to make the SUV more appealing to off-roading enthusiasts.
