Royal Enfield Cafe Racer Launched in UK

The much awaited Royal Enfield Cafe Racer dubbed “Continental GT” has been launched in the UK priced at £ 5,200  (Rs 5.2 lakh) on-road. The continental GT is the first Royal Enfield Cafe Racer in 60 years with a single-cylinder 535cc fuel-injected UCE engine, which makes 29.1PS of power and 44Nm of torque. It has 5-speed manual gearbox and has a kerb weight of 184Kg with 90% fuel and oil. The Royal Enfield Cafe Racer has a Fuel tank capacity of 13.5 litres.

The seat on the Royal Enfield Cafe Racer is a flat unit and can be ordered in single or twin-seater configurations and contrast stitching. Handling the suspension duties are handled by 41mm forks at the front and Paioli twin-charged gas shockers at rear. The Continental GT is mated with Brembo disc brake units and Royal Enfield has also introduced ‘Burn-up Wear’, a set of motorcycle riding gear. The handle bar on the Royal Enfield Cafe Racer is placed low with relation to the fuel tank and has optional rear view mirrors placed at the bar-end. There is an upswept exhaust on offer as well. Royal Enfield will be manufacturing the Continental GT at their Oragadam plant which became functional from April 2013. Indian launch of the Continental GT should happen before 2013 ends.
