Auto Expo 2016 : Renault Duster Facelift with Easy-R AMT Unveiled

After announcing upgrades to the Kwid yesterday, Renault India used the second day of the Auto Expo to show some much-needed love to the popular Duster SUV. The 2016 Renault Duster facelift was finally unveiled to audiences. Scheduled for launch later this year, this will be the first proper facelift of the compact SUV ever since its launch in way back in 2011.

Changes made to the Duster aren’t extreme but lean more towards the subtle cosmetic touch ups side. The compact SUV receives revamped head lamps, front radiator grille and restyled alloy rims in the facelift version that makes its way to India.

Additionally, the Duster gets restyled roof rails, LED tail-lamps, power folding wing mirrors, navigation system, automatic climate control, rear view camera, auto up/down windows and cruise control. To top things off it also gets newly designed alloy wheels.

Apart from this the Duster will also receive automated manual transmission (AMT) which will be seen on some trims. The Renault Duster gets the same Easy-R AMT Gear-Box that was announced for the Kwid yesterday.  The company has also informed that a new colour option, Cayenne Orange will also be added to the Duster lineup.

Under the hood, the Duster will come powered by the same 1.5-litre diesel and 1.6-litre diesel engines but a new CMO-10 engine compartment that further improves its drivability has been announced.

No pricing details have been revealed, but the Easy-R AMT versions are expected to be priced competitively while the  manual gearbox versions will be priced around the same range that the older generation Duster came for.
