Honda Mobilio MPV debuts in Indonesia; Coming to India

Honda has unveiled the Mobilio, a MPV that’s built on the Brio platform. The Mobilio has been unveiled at the Indonesia Motor show held in Jakarta. There are chances that Brio based MPV could be launched in India in future. The Mobilio will be mated with two engine options petrol and diesel, for Indian market either the 1.5 litre petrol engine or a smaller 1.2 litre petrol engine could be launched.

The Diesel engine will be the 1.5 litre i-DTEC turbo diesel motor which was seen in Amaze compact Sedan. The Indian model could get The 5-speed manual transmission. The Mobilio will be competing with the car like Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy and Nissan Evalia. The Mobilio will be the first MPV that Honda will launch in Indian car market, is 135mm longer than Ertiga and can be a tough competitor to Toyota Innova.

Honda will also launch compact SUV based on Jazz which will get diesel engine. Only Brio seems to be missing a diesel engine and Honda is already developing a smaller diesel engine for Brio.
