2016 Mitsubishi Outlander SUV to Reach India Later This Year

As a grand debut at the 2015 New York Auto Show, Mitsubishi has revealed the new 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander SUV facelift. This new version borrows its looks and design from the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Concept-S that was showed off last year at the Paris Motor Show.

You can choose any one of the two powertrains, which include a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 166 hp and 124 pound-feet of torque, and a 3.0 litre V6 with 224 hp and 215 pound-feet of torque. The front-wheel drive is usual with all-wheel drive as an option.

You can also choose between two automatic transmissions: a six-speed unit with paddle shifters and a gearless CVT. In addition to a new style, Mitsubishi also added that with this car, they have made more than a 100 engineering and designing improvements, mostly related to noise, harshness and vibration. This includes thicker glass, re-tuned electric steering, extra sound insulation, etc. The vehicle also receives prominent grille flanked by sleep headlamps. Safety measures include Forward Collision Mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Departure Warning.

A few months ago, Mitsubishi discontinued the Outlander. But reports from Hindustan Motor claims the company is planning to launch the petrol variant later this year. The diesel variant is said to reach the Indian market by next year.
