Hyundai Elite i20 with a Fresh New Design to Hit the Market Soon

Hyundai had recently released the official rendering image and teaser video of the new Hyundai Elite i20. Now the company is planning to make the world debut of the new Hyundai Elite i20 in India on August 11th, which says a lot about the company’s commitment to the country.

The company executives have confirmed that the current generation Hyundai i20 will be discontinued. Unlike the Hyundai Grand i10, the Hyundai Elite i20 will replace the existing model altogether and not sell alongside.

According to reports, the new Hyundai Elite i20 has been designed at Hyundai Motor’s Design Centre Europe in Rüsselsheim, Germany and will take the company’s Fluidic Sculpture design philosophy to the next level. The Hyundai Elite i20 sports a wider and aggressive styling with a pair of large headlights, trapezoidal grille, strong shoulder lines and black C-pillars. The rear end gets sleek tail-lamps with LED highlights that spread over the boot lid.

The new Design sure looks impressive, hope the car stands up to the hype

We expect the cabin room to be more generous, and roomy as compared to the current i20 since the new Hyundai Elite i20 will have a longer wheelbase. Hyundai claims to have paid extra attention to make the car more comfortable for rear passengers and have also added additional features to help make it stand out from any current or future competition.

Coming down to the engine specs, Hyundai has not revealed much about the new Hyundai Elite i20.  Though, we’ve been told to expect it to be similar to the regular Hyundai i20. Engine options of the current Hyundai i20 will most probably be carried forward on the new Hyundai Elite i20, which includes the 84PS, 1.2-litre kappa petrol mated to a 5-speed gearbox and a 100PS, 1.4-litre petrol motor with 4-speed automatic system. The Diesel variant will come in a 90PS, 1.4-litre engine with a 5-speed manual transmission.

The new Hyundai Elite i20 is expected to go on sale by end of August 2014 and is expected to be priced between Rs 4.9 lakh to Rs 7.9 lakh.

Hyundai is preparing itself with the new Hyundai Elite i20 to take on fresh competition like the recently launched 2014 Volkswagen Polo and other upcoming models like the new Honda Jazz and the Maruti Suzuki Swift Facelift.
